My story begins in West Africa. As a young girl, I was taught the art of traditional African hairstyles by my mother and other family members. This is something most girls like me learned to do. At the age of 18, I moved to the USA to live with my aunt, where I pursued a career as a medical assistant. However, while studying for my career, I got pulled back to my passion for beauty and started working at beauty stores, where I applied my skills and learned modern hairstyles. It was during this time that I discovered my true passion for the hair and beauty industry. I eventually worked in one of the largest beauty stores in America, selling a wide range of products. I dreamed of one day opening a store of my own in America.
